Legalization and apostille
On January 1, 2007 the Kingdom of Denmark joined the Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents of October 5, 1961.
Attention: The Consular Section legalizes only the documents which do not fall within the scope of the Convention of 05.10.1961. This procedure is performed by the Consular Section if the Danish Foreign Ministry endorses the document with a special legalization stamp.
An «apostille» should be stamped by the Danish Foreign Ministry on those documents issued by Danish authorities or organizations which are supposed to be presented in the Russian Federation.

To be fully acknowledged by Russian authorities the document furnished with an apostille should be translated by an authorized translator to Russian. The list of the authorized translators, located in Denmark can be found here. You can also have your documents translated by an authorized translator in Russia.
After the document with an apostille has been translated a signature of a Danish authorized translator should be certified at the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Denmark.
If your document is furnished with an apostille, the legalization stamp of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Denmark is not necessary.
