When Russian relative is in Russia

2) I am a foreign citizen, but my close relative is in Russia and cannot participate in visa application with me.

Close relatives are understood as: spouse, parents, children, spouses of children, brothers and sisters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandchildren of a Russian citizen.

List of required documents:

1. Application form for visa. It is filled out on the website visa.kdmid.ru, printed and attached to the documents. Pay attention to the correct indication of the place of application in the printed form. The form must be completed for the embassy (check the right corner of the printed form). Application forms prepared for the Visa Application Center will not be accepted.

2. Passport. Must have at least 2 blank pages and be valid for a further 6 months from the visa expiry date.

3. Travel insurance covering the entire stay in Russia. The policy must contain at least the following information: full name of the insured, policy number, validity period, region of coverage (eg Russia or the whole world, etc.).

4. Min. 1 color photograph 35 x 45 mm on a light background. In Denmark, such a photograph is often referred to as a "passport photo".

5. Invitation for private visa from a Russian citizen.

An invitation for a private visa in Russia can be issued:

First variant: your host in Russia can get an invitation through the migration authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (MVD, in other words police). In this case, you will receive the invitation from the Ministry of the Internal Affairs (even copy will be enough). This method will also work in cases, even if the invited foreigner is not a close relative of a Russian citizen.

The second variant: if a foreigner is a close relative of a Russian citizen, then it is possible to fill out an application addressed to the ambassador and certify the signature on the application with a notary in Russia. In this case, the original (!) notarized invitation must be presented when applying at the consulate.

6. Documents confirming relationship with a Russian citizen (marriage certificate, birth certificate, change of surname or name, etc.) Foreign documents must have an apostille, translation into Russian and Russian notarization of the translation (done at the Russian consulate or in Russia).

Copies of the passport of a Russian citizen are also attached to the documents.

Note - if you are not a Danish citizen, you must present a document confirming the right to stay in Denmark for a period of more than 90 days (residence permit, letter from the migration authority, etc.). A permanent residence permit and fully prepaid hotel reservation and tickets are required from citizens of the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Georgia, India, Iraq, Iran, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Syria, Somalia, Chad, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia (also if they have Danish aliens passport).
